The Week: Advertising news - Govt to top adspend league

The Government is set to overtake Procter & Gamble as the country's biggest spender on advertising, following news that the FMCG giant cut its adspend by 10 per cent.

According to data from The Nielsen Company in 2008, P&G's overall spend dropped to £178.7 million, while COI's rose by 20 per cent to £178.1 million.
