The Week: Advertising News - IPA Awards to cap spend

The IPA is introducing a restriction to next year's IPA Effectiveness Awards by limiting entries to campaigns with budgets of less than £2.5 million.

The new entry criteria applies only to the competition held on alternate years, which was previously open to agencies with incomes of less than £20 million. By introducing the new restriction, the IPA is hoping to demonstrate to clients that effective communication does not necessarily need a big spend or large research budget.
