The Week: Advertising News - Marketing cash falls again

Third-quarterly annual marketing budgets have been cut at a record rate as the economic crisis weakens business confidence, according to the latest IPA Bellwether Report.

The report said business confidence was at the lowest level in the survey's nine-year history after budgets were cut for the fourth successive quarter. Main media advertising, PR, events sponsorship and market research were the key budgets hit by the downturn, and all marketing categories saw a drop apart from the internet, which remained steady.
