The Week: Advertising News - Microsoft gives ads credit

Microsoft has credited its ads for a boost in sales of its consumer PCs, the only bright spot in a report in which the company saw its first year-on-year revenue drop in its history.

While the company's business PC and server divisions were badly hit, its consumer PC business fared much better, the company said, thanks to the growth in sales of its netbooks and its Windows ad campaign by Crispin Porter & Bogusky.
