Writing in response to a query from the AA about the Government's intentions, Primarolo said: "We welcome the changes that food manufacturers have already made in advertising directed at children, and are keen to strengthen existing partnerships with the food and advertising industries."

Dawn Primarolo, the public health minister, has written to the Advertising Association suggesting the Government would rather work in partnership with the industry than impose a 9pm watershed for junk-food advertising.
