The Week: Advertising News - Olympics to boost adspend

The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games is predicted to increase global advertising spend by $3 billion, according to a report by Zenith-Optimedia. China alone will be responsible for $1 billion of that total, with $2 billion spent in the rest of the world. Combined with a $3 billion increase in ad investment around the 2008 UEFA European Football Championship and the US presidential election, Zenith-Optimedia has predicted global adspend will grow by 6.4 per cent.
