The Week: Advertising News - Online adspend up to £1bn

The online advertising market grew by 41.3 per cent year on year to reach £1.33 billion in the first half of 2007, increasing its share of UK adspend to almost 15 per cent, according to the Internet Advertising Bureau and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The value of digital display ads increased by 33 per cent year on year to £287 million, while the classified sector jumped by more than 70 per cent to £277.7 million. Overall, the UK ad market grew by 3.1 per cent to £9.1 billion, but would have fallen by £1.9 billion without the contribution from the digital media sector.
