The Week: Advertising news - P&G scoops Cannes award

Procter & Gamble has been named 2008 Advertiser of the Year by the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.

The award will be picked up by A G Lafley, the P&G chairman and chief executive, and Jim Stengel, the global marketing officer, at the festival in June. The award represents a turnaround for the company, which had committed to improving creativity in its advertising as far back as 2002.
