The Week: Advertising news - Rise in online advertisers

The online advertising industry has experienced a 21 per cent rise in the number of advertisers using the medium in the first four months of this year, research by Nielsen Online has shown.

The sector also saw the amount of display ad campaigns increase by one-fifth during the period, with just over 11,000 digital campaigns being rolled out. Financial and retail clients were among the most dominant brands in the online sector, with Marks & Spencer and Barclays two of the most prominent.
