The Week: Advertising news - Scamp blasts Sweeney Todd

The Advertising Standards Authority has received a complaint from the pressure group Scamp (Stop Crude Advertising Material in Public) that poster ads for Johnny Depp's new film Sweeney Todd glamorise violence because they show the actor wielding a razor.

A spokeswoman for the ASA denied reports that it had received complaints from cinemagoers that the trailer for the film was misleading because it does not mention the fact that Sweeney Todd is a musical.
