The Week: Advertising News - Tesco plots book launches

Tesco is to launch a range of branded books that it will sell online and in UK stores.

The retailer has partnered with the publisher Random House to launch Tesco Book Club, and will produce a special edition of a title each month featuring additional content and a branded bookmark. The retailer will promote the scheme via point-of-sale, e-mail and ads in Tesco Magazine, as well as through a dedicated web portal. Separately, Tesco has also announced a plastic bag-free option as part of its home delivery service. Customers will be able to choose to receive their groceries on green plastic trays rather than in plastic bags.
