The Week: Advertising news - Traditional adspend falls

Global advertising spend across traditional media channels fell 7.2 per cent year on year in the first quarter of 2009, according to a Nielsen report.

European countries were hit the worst, with Spain down 28.2 per cent, Ireland down 21.2 per cent, Italy down 19.1 per cent and the UK down 14.7 per cent. Magazines were the worst hit media, down 17.4 per cent globally.
