The Week: Brand - Philippa Brown joins Omnicom Media as UK chief

The IPC board director, Philippa Brown, has been named chief executive of Omnicom Media Group UK. She joins in July, and will report to Colin Gottlieb, the chief executive of OMG EMEA. The heads of all of OMG's UK agencies, including OMD UK, Manning Gottlieb OMD, PHD and OPera, will report to Brown. The group has combined billings of £1.2 billion.

Brown, who has worked at DMB&B and in the media department at Bartle Bogle Hegarty, returns to the agency world after ten years at IPC, most recently as the managing director of IPC tx, IPC + and IPC Direct. Fiona Dent, the publishing director of Wallpaper*, has been promoted to replace her.

Brown said: "The media agency world is so exciting at the moment. The aim at OMG is to build on the successes achieved, and to ensure the group is performing as effectively and efficiently as possible.

She added: "It's about leveraging the scale of its £1.2 billion billings, but also about delivering on wider business objectives."
