The Week: City news - Cadbury reports profits fall

Cadbury Schweppes has reported full-year pre-tax profits of £670 million, down from £738 million in 2006, and below analysts' expectations.

However, the company singled out the performance of its UK chocolate division and the Dairy Milk drumming "gorilla" ad, as positive indicators. "In chocolate, revenues in the second half benefited from the successful relaunch of Wispa and our new advertising campaign for Cadbury Dairy Milk," it said.
