The Week: City News - Customer boost for Sky

BSkyB added 83,000 customers in the third quarter of 2007, taking it to a total of 8.67 million, the company announced this week.

Revenues grew by 11 per cent year on year to £1.19 billion. Sky+ saw record quarterly growth in subscribers of 14 per cent, up 323,000 on the previous quarter to 2.7 million. Operating profit of £143 million included losses of £51 million in broadband and telephony, as well as £7 million in legal fees.
