The Week: City News - Google revenues decline

Google has posted its slowest-ever quarterly revenue growth as a public company, up 6.2 per cent to £3.7 billion from £3.5 billion a year ago.

The figure, for the first quarter of 2009, represented a decline of 3 per cent from December. However, due to job cuts and reduced expenses, its quarterly profit increased 8.9 per cent to £960 million from £884 million in the same quarter last year.
