The Week: City News - Hearst tables Emap bid

Hearst Corporation, the owner of the UK's third-largest magazine publisher, The National Magazine Company, has made a £700 million indicative offer for Emap's consumer magazine division.

NatMags' stable tends to focus more on the upmarket end of the women's sector, with magazines such as Good Housekeeping and Cosmopolitan, while Emap's portfolio is larger, and contains a mix of male- and female-targeted titles, and of weeklies and monthlies.
