The Week: City News - Lerwill: Bollore 'uninformed'

Robert Lerwill, the Aegis chief executive, has rounded on its largest shareholder, Vincent Bollore, after the latter criticised Aegis' profits performance.

Bollore, the chairman of Aegis' rival Havas, holds a 29.9 per cent stake in Aegis, and has made several unsuccessful attempts to win seats on the board of the company. A spokesman said Bollore was disappointed by the 18 per cent decrease in net profit to £26 million reported by Aegis for the first half of 2007. Lerwill countered by saying that Bollore's analysis was "strange and uninformed", and added that Aegis' revenue growth was clearly ahead of that of Havas.
