The Week: City news - Oakley bids for social site

Oakley Capital, the private equity company owned by the internet entrepreneur Peter Dubens, is reported to have made a £15 million bid for the ITV-owned social networking website Friends Reunited. The offer for the site, which has seen a huge decrease in popularity, is 90 per cent less than the £175 million that ITV paid for it in 2005.
