The Week: City News - Riley plots Emap Radio bid

Phil Riley, the former chief executive of Chrysalis Radio, has emerged as the frontman behind a private equity bid for Emap Radio.

According to The Sunday Telegraph, Riley is working with Vitruvian Partners, which is run by the former executives of the buyout group Apax. Riley confirmed that he is planning a bid, and said he would take on the role of chairman at Emap Radio if he pulls off the deal. Offers for Emap's three divisions, including consumer and business-to-business magazines, were submitted on Monday.
