The Week: City News - Sorrell predicts 'good year'

Sir Martin Sorrell, the chief executive of WPP, has said that the marketing communications group has seen business pick up in April following its first quarter, and he expects 2007 to be a good year for the advertising industry.

Speaking at a Reuters conference this week, he said: "April was a good month top line, and stronger than the first quarter. It's difficult to say with total confidence, but I would stick with my original view from last year that 2007 will be a good year, and better than 2006 for the industry. If we do the right job, we'll be in line with that."
