The Week: City News - Trinity Mirror in ad slump

Sly Bailey, the chief executive of Trinity Mirror, reported a slump in advertising and circulation at its annual general meeting last week, with ad revenues down by 5.8 per cent in the first four months of 2007.

Group circulation was also down by 0.5 per cent. Digital revenues performed more strongly, however, with regional growth at 24.8 per cent and national growth at 30.7 per cent. Trinity Mirror launched 245 websites last year, and more than half of the group's print ads now also appear online.
