The Week: City News - Virgin Media revenues up

Virgin Media added 17,800 new customers across its TV, broadband, telephone and mobile services in the third quarter, and boosted revenues by 1.3 per cent to £953 million.

Average revenue-per-user rose 5.3 per cent to a record £44.24, almost a pound-per-user ahead of analysts' expectations. Customer churn was flat at 1.5 per cent year on year. The company said it now has 59.5 per cent of its customers taking three services - TV, broadband and fixed-line telephone - while 10 per cent also have a contract with Virgin Mobile.
