The Week: i-Q - The Internet Question - Where do you like to lunch?

I've often felt the food in Ramsay's restaurants and The Ivy is very overrated. I think big-name places such as these trade on their name, reputation for having famous clientele and being a place to be seen. The Wolseley is also nothing special. I love Roka though - great food. - Mark Smith

Nabbing the number-one spot is well deserved for Petrus. Ramsay has been overstretching himself for a long time. It's more about the brand than the cooking with him. - Holly Martins

A lot of these so-called top restaurants are not what they are cracked up to be, and the service can be shockingly bad in some. Personally, I am a big fan of Spiga in Wardour Street. - Frank Poole

You can't beat a liquid lunch in a decent boozer if you ask me. Bricklayers Arms in Fitzrovia gets my vote. - Roger O'Thornhill

Interestingly, Petrus seems to have no votes at all via this poll, so it can't be the adland fraternity that are frequenting it. I'm lucky enough to have been to a couple of the restaurants listed and thought that their food was absolutely delicious ... particularly as it's a sandwich at my desk most days ... - Steph Smith

Err. Have we all slipped back to the 80s? - Sue Turner
