The Week: Media News - BBC mulls kids' TV revamp

The BBC is considering a proposal to drop afternoon children's programming from BBC1.

Children's programming has run on BBC1 for the past 61 years, but the BBC is now looking at shifting the genre, including shows such as Blue Peter, to BBC2. The success of the BBC's digital children's channels, CBeebies and CBBC, is said to have fuelled the plans, as has a rejuvenated ITV daytime schedule.
