The Week: Media News - BBC to review celeb deals

The BBC has signalled a review of the financial relationships it holds with its celebrity presenters following the scandal over prank calls made by Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand to Andrew Sachs. Mark Thompson, the director-general of the BBC, said that vast celebrity pay deals were heading for a period of "retrenchment", during an interview on BBC1's The Andrew Marr Show.
