The Week: Media News - C4 phone row rumbles on

Channel 4 and the premium-rate phone regulator Icstis have fallen out over the regulator's assertion that the broadcaster may have to pay up to £2.35 million to refund viewers affected by the Richard and Judy "You Say We Pay" quiz scandal.

As part of its adjudication against Eckoh, the quiz line operator fined £150,000 over the affair, Icstis estimated the number of phone calls involved to be around five million. Channel 4 responded by stating that the regulator could not know how many callers were affected outside of Icstis' two-and-a-half week investigation period.
