The Week: Media News - C4 plans radio launches

Channel 4 is to launch Channel 4 Radio, after the consortium it led was awarded the second digital radio multiplex by Ofcom. The broadcaster will now create ten national digital radio stations. In July 2008, it plans to launch E4 Radio, Channel 4 Radio and Pure4. Sky News, Emap and The Carphone Warehouse were among other companies involved in the consortium, and will launch other stations such as Radio Disney, Closer (based on the Emap title of the same name), Sky News Radio and Virgin Radio Viva over time.
