The Week: Media News - Dailies sales on the up

July saw a rise in the total daily newspaper market of 1.49 per cent, although six-month averages remained down by 3.31 per cent, according to the latest ABC circulation figures. The biggest increase of 4.2 per cent came for the Daily Mail, while the Financial Times suffered the biggest decline, of 4.12 per cent. The red-tops added about 70,000 copies to their combined sales since June, while London Lite and thelondonpaper posted increases in readership. The Mail on Sunday's figures rose by 1.92 per cent on June, buoyed by its Prince CD giveaway.
