The Week: Media News - EBay forces Google retreat

The internet giants Google and eBay clashed in the US this week after Google decided to hold a party in the middle of the auction site's conference in Boston. EBay retaliated by pulling all of its advertising - worth around $25 million - from the US version of Google, prompting Google to back down and cancel the party. Google is currently lobbying eBay to accept payments by its new system Checkout, as well as using eBay's PayPal.
