The Week: Media news - Facebook loses UK users

Facebook saw its number of UK unique users decline for the first time since July 2006, falling 5 per cent to 8.5 million in January.

The site lost 400,000 users on December, but its audience remains 9 per cent higher than it was three months ago. Facebook countered by saying it had seen a rise in active users month on month, and has 8.3 million active users in the UK, up by 600,000 on the 7.7 million recorded in December. (Perspective, p14)
