The Week: Media news - Five scraps the red button

Separately, five has axed its red-button interactive TV service.

The service, which is understood to have been scrapped because the broadcaster considers it to be too costly to run, was available on digital satellite and cable programming, including CSI and Prison Break, and on selected ads. Channel 4 decided to drop its iTV service last year in favour of increased investment in online.
