It was up 3.4 per cent on August to 441,219. This represented a 2.1 per cent growth on last year. The Guardian was the biggest year-on-year faller, down 5.6 per cent to 367,546, but up 3.3 per cent on August. The Evening Standard, meanwhile, posted its first year-on-year sales increase since 2005. It was up 0.66 per cent at 291,150, which is a 4.9 per cent growth on August.
The Financial Times was once again the only quality paper to record a year-on-year increase in circulation.
