The Week: Media news - Global adspend on the up

New figures released by Nielsen Media Research have revealed that global adspend increased 2.9 per cent year on year between July and September 2008, despite the economic downturn.

According to Nielsen's AdView Pulse report, the majority of the growth was recorded in the Asia-Pacific region, which posted a 7.8 per cent increase in adspend in the three months to September. Europe as a whole posted a drop of 5.9 per cent.
