The Week: Media news - ITV fails to attract sponsor

ITV has not secured a sponsor for its showcase of Christmas programming, claiming that the number of individual programmes that it plans to run precluded a single sponsorship deal.

The decision ends a run of seven years of sponsorship of the broadcaster's festive programming, with Dreams sponsoring last year's offering and Rennie backing the previous six years. Some new programming will be individually sponsored, however, with Sekonda backing an ITV1 Christmas primetime music special.
