The Week: Media news - ITV to overhaul social site

ITV is considering a name change for Friends Reunited as part of a strategic review in response to competition from rivals such as MySpace and Facebook.

As part of the overhaul, which is being overseen by Rupert Howell, ITV's managing director of brand and commercial, the broadcaster is also planning to ditch Friends Reunited's subscription charges in favour of an advertiser-funded model.
