The Week: Media News - ITV's CRR complaints rise

The number of complaints against ITV made to the Contracts Rights Renewal Adjudicator rose to 17 in the year to April.

This was compared with 12 complaints in the previous 12 months, according to figures revealed just weeks before the start of the review into CRR, which will be conducted in partnership with Ofcom. Both ISBA and the IPA have made submissions arguing that CRR should be maintained. The IPA claimed that, in some instances, ITV can "deliberately adopt provocative and retaliatory action with regards to some clients, with time 'disappearing' from schedules and sudden lack of availability in key programmes".
