The Week: Media news - Kangaroo decision delayed

The Competition Commission has delayed the closing deadline for its investigation into Kangaroo, the joint video-on-demand venture from ITV, Channel 4 and BBC Worldwide, until next year.

The deadline has had to be pushed back because the information needed from all involved parties has not yet been accumulated. The Commission is investigating whether the planned Kangaroo service will cause competition issues in the online video market. It also wants to determine the impact of Kangaroo on ad rates, pricing and range of content and innovation of products.
