The Week: Media News - Local radio quota reduced

Ofcom has relaxed its rules on the amount of local content that local FM radio stations must broadcast to a minimum of ten hours per weekday and four hours per day at weekends.

The commercial radio trade body, RadioCentre, had called for the minimum local content quota to start from three hours per day, but the regulator decided against its previously proposed size-based three-tier system ranging from four to 13 hours per day after conducting research with listeners.
