MailOnline remained the most popular UK newspaper website in August, despite a decline of 4 per cent in its user numbers on July.

MailOnline's traffic totalled 28.6 million, an increase of 65 per cent year on year. remained the UK's second- most-visited newspaper website, with 26.7 million users, a decline of 1 per cent on July. The Guardian site was up 15 per cent on August 2008.
