The Week: Media News - Microsoft in News Corp talks

Microsoft and News Corp are in talks over a plan that could see the computer giant pay Rupert Murdoch's company to list news content on its search engine Bing.

The deal, reported by the Financial Times, could spark a search engine battle and offer hope to newspapers struggling to monetise online content. News Corp said that it was considering pulling its news content from Google, and Microsoft has approached other online publishers to convince them to "de-index" their sites from Google, according to the report.
