The Week: Media News - New football title planned

Open Goal, a free, 48-page glossy football magazine, is to launch in January with a 250,000 distribution outside Premier League stadiums.

The independent monthly title will launch in a slimline A5 format with a website at The entrepreneur Richard Stonehouse is behind the launch, which is being backed by the Newcastle-based investment group NStar. The title has secured Adidas and Reebok as launch advertisers.
