The Week: Media news - Online adspend 'will slow'

Researchers have forecast a 50 per cent drop in UK online advertising spend growth this year, due to the current economic downturn.

The report, by the market research company eMarketer, estimates that online adspending growth will be 7.2 per cent this year, bringing the total to £3.58 billion. The company predicts that UK internet media will not recover until the London Olympics in 2012, when it forecasts that spend will jump up by 14.6 per cent to £5.07 billion.
