The Week: Media News - Selina Scott sues five

The television newsreader Selina Scott has begun legal action against five, claiming her contract to present five News was unfairly terminated, according to reports.

Scott is seeking compensation under age discrimination laws on the grounds that five reneged on an agreement that she would cover for Natasha Kaplinsky when she goes on maternity leave later this month. In June, five announced that Isla Traquair and Matt Barbet would present the flagship 5pm and 7pm bulletins in Kaplinsky's absence.
