The Week: Media news - Sport hires 'lads' mag' duo

Barry McIlheney and James Brown, the "lads' mag" experts, have been drafted in to oversee a major relaunch of the Daily and Sunday Sport newspapers in a bid to attract advertisers and turn around long-term circulation declines.

The papers' covers will be radically redesigned with a more magazine-style format, and there will also be fresh news layouts and increased coverage of football. The new-look Daily Sport will launch in April, followed by its sister Sunday title. Coverprices will not be immediately affected, although the publisher is considering a reduction in the future.
