The Week: Media news - Sun circulation rises again

The Sun recorded its third-straight month of year-on-year circulation increases in May, up 3.48 per cent to 3,149,267, according to the newspaper ABCs for May.

The newly redesigned Daily Sport suffered a 10.54 per cent month-on-month drop (no year-on-year figures are available) to 85,043, while all the other tabloid and mid-market titles recorded year-on-year declines. Although all the quality dailies were down year on year, The Times, Financial Times and The Guardian were all up month on month. The Observer was the only quality Sunday paper to record a year-on-year rise, up 0.53 per cent to 453,757.
