The Week: Media news - The Sun cuts UK price by 5p

News International has cut the price of The Sun across the UK from 35p to 30p, sparking a new tabloid price war.

The price cut means the newspaper now costs 10p less than its main tabloid rival the Daily Mirror, and 5p less than the Daily Star. To underline its confidence in the brand, The Sun will continue to pay retailers in England based on a cover price of 35p.
