The Week: Media News - Trinity to close free papers

Trinity Mirror is to close eight loss-making free weekly newspapers in Derby and Peterborough after a review of its operations.

The decision will lead to 23 redundancies, including six editorial and 14 advertising staff. Separately, David Higgerson has been appointed as the head of multimedia for the company's regional division. He replaces Mike Hill, who left in March to become the editor of the South Wales Echo.
