The Week: Media News - Web adspend data wrong

PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Internet Advertising Bureau have admitted that the online adspend figures for the first half of 2009, released last month, contained a £50 million error.

Initial figures showed that online classified advertising had risen by 10.6 per cent year on year; however, an investigation has since shown that the sector experienced a 3.6 per cent decline. The £49.26 million discrepancy did not change the total online adspend figure for the period, which still stands at £1.75 billion.
