The Week: Media reviews - Npower consolidates £15m integrated account into VCCP

Npower has consolidated its £15 million integrated account, including advertising, direct marketing and online, into VCCP.

The appointment follows the company's decision to review its roster, which included the ad agency Beattie McGuinness Bungay, the direct marketing agency EHS Brann and Grand Union, which handled online. None of the agencies were asked to repitch for the business. The energy company's media agency, Vizeum, was unaffected by the review.

Kevin Peake, the director of marketing at Npower, said the company was now looking to be more tactical and turn around campaigns much more quickly.

"Our aim was to find an agency which has everything under one roof and a proven track record in changing market perceptions of differing industries," he said.

VCCP will be initially briefed with continuing work on the ongoing Wallace and Gromit ads that broke in January this year for the energy provider's energy saving products and services.
